3DXpert® is an integrated software solution that uses additive manufacturing (AM) technology to prepare, optimize and manufacture 3D CAD models at the production level. From additive manufacturing design to every step of the post-processing workflow, 3DXpert can provide support and help you quickly and efficiently transition from 3D models to profitable printed parts.
3DXpert can help you:
- Easily achieve successful, high-quality printing-design preparation for additive manufacturing.
- Shorten the delivery time from design to manufacturing-integrate printing preparation and optimize work flow.
- Optimize the design structure-through lighter parts and enhanced functions and other features, benefit more from additive manufacturing.
- Minimize manufacturing costs-shorten printing time, reduce material consumption and post-processing operations.
The newly released version of 3DXpert 15 introduces important new features and enhancements, which not only provide new value for these objects, but also pay special attention to the functions required for the transition from rapid prototyping to mass production.
Major new features and enhancements
Strong support-new automatic support structure generation
Shorten printing preparation time and reduce manufacturing costs. Many printing technologies require the generation of support structures, which can be a tedious and time-consuming task. The correct support structure settings have a significant impact on the success of printing, the quality of the surface, and the time and cost of post-processing. Automatically generating a support structure is a difficult task because you must consider many factors.

The new lattice QuickSlice fast slicing function
Shorten the slicing time of large-volume lattice structures. As the size of the printer continues to increase, the size of the printed parts and the number of possible lattices on a single print tray also increase. The number of lattice structure elements may be hundreds of thousands or even millions.
Use the new lattice QuickSlice to quickly slice to complete the sliced lattice structure
Enhanced build simulation analysis
Clearer visualization of simulation results. Modeling and simulation can ensure successful printing that meets model specifications, help users optimize designs, and minimize the number of trials. Because the construction simulation is integrated in the design environment, it can provide designers with instant feedback about the design, including direction, the number of supporting structures (too little and too much), and the feasibility of printing parts. When printing expensive or large numbers of parts, immediate feedback is particularly important.

New two-way direct data transfer with SOLIDWORKS
Maintain design integrity. Direct access to the native CAD data of the CAD software helps to ensure the integrity of the design and has been supported by 3DXpert.

3DXpert’s new dental solution package
Easily print metal dental parts. 3D printed dental crowns, bridges, implants and other dental parts have been reshaping the dental care market. And specific applications involving metal printed parts have very specific requirements to ensure high-quality, fast, and low-cost printing.

Design conformal cooling channels quickly and easily. Cooling the plastic in a controlled and uniform manner in the mold is essential to reduce warpage and ensure that the part size meets the specified tolerances. The 3D printing mold components enable the conformal cooling runner to send the coolant to the mold area that cannot be reached by the traditional cooling runner. Conformal cooling shortens the cooling process, thereby reducing injection time, and therefore also reduces the cost of plastic parts.

Obtain a unique competitive advantage. The lattice structure is a commonly used strategy to reduce the weight of parts and enhance their functional characteristics, while maintaining their external shape and increasing the texture of their external surfaces. In addition to using the existing rich library of predefined lattice structures in 3DXpert, self-developed lattice structures are also a good way to gain competitive advantage, optimize manufacturing costs, and use your own IP and gain experience.
The new zero-thickness support fills objects with open surfaces, enabling lighter weight and faster printing
Enhanced multi-print head control
Improve throughput while maintaining the quality of seamless parts. Print time is a key factor in additive manufacturing throughput and is becoming an increasingly critical issue as printers and parts become larger. Multiple print heads greatly reduce 3D printing time, thereby increasing manufacturing throughput and making additive manufacturing a viable option for mass production.
The new DMP Factory 500 series printers print multiple parts with 3 different print heads. The yellow part is printed using all three print heads according to automatic allocation, while the smaller parts are automatically allocated to different print heads.
New DMP monitor for automated print analysis and verification
Speed up design and printing process verification. The proven additive manufacturing process ensures that the quality and mechanical characteristics of the printed parts meet the design specifications. Today, the common practice of certified additive manufacturing processes is based on post-build testing. CT (computed tomography) scanning and destructive testing are used to verify that the internal structure and material properties of the printed part meet the predefined thresholds of part quality. The current process is expensive and lengthy, and requires a lot of manual operation and expertise.
The new DMP monitor (available in beta) analyzes the data collected by DMP monitoring and provides a clear 3D visualization of the suspicious volume. Now you can use data from different pre-print and print sources for root cause analysis, and use 3DXpert’s extensive design tools to take corresponding corrective actions. This revolutionary method allows you to scan 100% of printed parts to quickly identify parts that do not meet quality standards, and save unnecessary post-processing work and secondary testing of these parts.

Enhanced support for multiple technologies and multiple vendors
All-in-one additive manufacturing software for your printing equipment. Modern printing facilities are using different printers and printing technologies to best meet specific applications. These printers may come from different suppliers and use different materials. Each printing technology can use different attributes and settings. Many printer vendors have developed their own authentication slicing mechanism with predefined optimized and verified printing strategies and parameters. To establish an efficient additive manufacturing workflow that can take full advantage of printing equipment, it is ideal to use the same printing preparation methods throughout the printing facility.
3DXpert 15 introduced enhancements required for SLS (Selective Laser Sintering Technology) and MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology. These technologies do not need to generate support for SLS or establish very direct support on MIM printers.

The new processor can use its slicing mechanism and its proven printing strategies and parameters to directly print on various printers developed by multiple vendors (such as EOS, SLM, and Renishaw). Enhanced functionality allows 3DXpert to be used as additive manufacturing software in a multi-vendor environment.
Choose from a large library of supported printers
3D nesting can maximize the use of printable space. Printer job time is one of the most expensive resources in a manufacturing environment. In addition to the actual printing time, you may also need to spend a lot of time preparing the printer and transferring from one print job to another. Therefore, using the printable space in the most effective way is essential to reduce manufacturing costs.
