Industrial-grade 3D printing manufacturer AddUp
AddUp is a French additive manufacturing company established in 2016, focusing on Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), Directed Energy Deposition (DED) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM) printing equipment. Nearly 40 machines are currently operating at the Cébazat, Strasbourg and Salon de Provence plants in France. AddUp has participated in many major projects foraviationaerospaceField printing to manufacture titanium alloy parts, forcarIndustry 3D Printing TiresmoldAnd 3D printed artificial hearts.
In January 2020, AddUp entered into a $2.7 million collaborative research and development project (CRADA) with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to study LPBF process equipment. In 2021 AddUp launches laser powder printer – FormUp 350, because FormUp 350 3D printerCombining high safety, high productivity, good product quality and high efficiency, it has been popular in the field of additive manufacturing since its launch.

●FormUp 350 can be used for all types ofmineral powder, including reactive metal powders, etc. This device has an exclusive developed with AZO companyAutomatic powder modulewhich can realize automatic storage, transportation, recovery and screening of powder during the manufacturing process.
●Haveautomatic filter system, can minimize smoke and smelting residues, reduce the impact of exhaust gas on the human body and ensure the safe disposal of waste. At the same time, calcium carbonate is added to the recovered soot and powder, which eliminates the risk of flammability and improves safety.
●FormUp 350 can be used simultaneouslyFour 500W lasersTo print, each laser covers the entire surface of the print platform.Bi-directional coating systemIncreased spread speed by 40%. Z axiscooling systemThe ability to automatically lower the platform temperature at the end of production enables faster part removal and increased printing efficiency.
●FormUp 350 can be developed for each individual applicationa specific “manufacturing recipe”, enabling high-efficiency and high-precision production of parts. Each of the FormUp 350The center geometry of the laser is down to 35μmand is equipped with3-axis optical chain for positioning accuracy and laser beam qualitygreatly improving the printing accuracy.
●FormUp 350 allows customers to choose a suitable powder spreading system according to their own needs, such as a scraper system or a roller system, the latter is more suitable for medium-sized powders.
Three latest monitoring software
AddUp has introduced three new process monitoring packages to improve the performance of the FormUp 350:AddUp Dashboards, Recoat Monitoring and Meltpool Monitoring.
Sébastien Devroe, CTO of AddUp, said: “The use of monitoring software in the additive manufacturing process can reduce or even replace the number of manual inspections in post-production, improving printing efficiency and quality. We are committed to providing our customers with a fully automated printing process, and these software innovations include Help drive additive manufacturing towards full industrialization.”
1.AddUp Dashboards
AddUp Dashboards is a general-purpose program capable of providing overall parameter inspection during the 3D printing process. It features easy-to-read dashboards that display real-time and historical process data for comprehensive traceability and analysis.
Users can choose from more than 25 data visualizations, such as charts, indicators, or text. Users can customize their size and layout.AddUp Dashboards refresh every five seconds and monitor and monitor over 80 manufacturing parameters.Examples include: oxygen levels, humidity levels, status of lasers, forces in moving parts, powder consumption, airflow status, etc. Additionally, Dashboards are equipped with an alert system that, if there is a problem with printing, will send an email notification to the machine operator with the option to continue printing or cancel it, saving time and materials.
For owning multiple AddUps 3D printerWith a large print area, Dashboards can collect, consolidate and display data from multiple machines simultaneously. Data from all systems can be presented on a central home screen, and the devices do not even need to be located in the same manufacturing facility.

2.Recoat Monitoring
Recoat Monitoring is used to analyze the layup quality in the FormUp 350 powder bed. By constantly checking the uniformity of powder layup in the machine, this software detects areas of the powder bed with too much or too little powder and is able to automatically correct them during the printing process.
Recoat Monitoring triggers correction procedures when necessary, ensuring consistent powder layering across the entire print area, improving part quality and reducing print failures. All coating corrections are monitored and displayed in AddUp Dashboards.

3.Meltpool Monitoring
Meltpool Monitoring analyzes the printing process on a microscopic scale. Using Meltpool Monitoring software, users can monitor the printing process for any defects without damaging the printed parts.
Meanwhile, any data collected by Meltpool Monitoring can be presented in the company’s dedicated CAM software, AddUp Manager. Engineers can also compare monitoring data to expected data values in real time.

Integrating the above three monitoring software on the printer is expected to improve the process control capability of FormUp 350 and improve the success rate and quality of part printing.
