On September 26, 2021, India’s Bharat Fritz Werner company plans to enter the field of metal additive manufacturing. Prior to this, the company was mostly known as a leading machine tool manufacturer in the South Asian subcontinent. In order to lead their new AM activities, BFW India appointed AshokH Varma as executive vice president and global leader, responsible for future additive manufacturing strategy, business and partnerships.

Varma is a widely recognized and recognized industry thought leader in the field of metal additive manufacturing, specializing in the realization of large metals through hybrid solutions of directed energy deposition (DED) and metal additive manufacturing3D printing. He has been committed to the development of commercial applications in key areas, such as space technology,aviation, Defense, oil and gas,energy, Tools and heavy industry.

He will use the international professional and academic experience of alumni at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and the University of Wisconsin-Madison to help BFW’s AM business achieve globalization.
