A few days ago, the Italian MASK architectural firm announced a plan to design the world’s first steel structure for the Nivola Museum in Orani, Sardinia.3D printingThe modular house structure is designed for visitors, tourists and artists. Located in the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is Italy’s second largest island (after Sicily), with an area of 240.9 million square kilometers and a population of approximately 1.656 million.
This project is named “Madre Natura”, and the house will be constructed using a new type of steel called EXOSTEEL3D printing“Exoskeleton” building system, which uses the Dutch3D printingThe robotic arm of the technology and automation company KUKA, the technology supplier MX3D.
The architectural project will consist of multiple heart-shaped white houses, with the central “energy tower” imitating the head of Nivola’s LaMadre sculpture. Each building will be designed to be completely self-sufficient and able to withstand the natural climate and weather conditions of Sardinia.
The house first consists of a hollow column and various organic branches supporting the three floors of the building. The part of the column inserted into the ground occupies one third of the length. Secondly, on each floor, frames separate and support the facades, which are made of panels according to the organic shape of the residence.
With the completion of the first step of the project design, MASK Architects is looking for investors to promote the project to achieve further results, and is in the process of reaching a mutual agreement with MX3D to participate in the construction.
