On April 8, 2020, the adhesive sprayed metal in Sweden3D printingMachine manufacturer Digital Metal has made its DM P2500 3D printingThe machine started a new software upgrade.
According to Digital Metal, after the software upgrade, the printing speed of the DM P2500 has been tripled, and the output per unit time has been greatly improved. The initial measurement speed was 100cm3/h. This new software will be installed as standard on all new DM P2500 devices that have been sold.
Alexander Sakratidis, Sales and Marketing Manager of Digital Metal, commented: “We have been working hard to improve the performance of the printer so that our customers can work with the best possible cost-effectiveness. This important upgrade allows the equipment to not sacrifice the quality of the components. Under the circumstance, a larger production volume can be achieved. We plan to continue to carry out similar major upgrades twice a year.”

DM P2500 Binder Spray Metal3D printingmachine
Digital Metal’s DM P2500 metal3D printingThe machine was first launched in 2017.This equipment is a set of binder spray metal additive manufacturing system that can use Digital Metal’s proprietary3D printingThe technology produces highly detailed components with a resolution of 35 μm.Its complexity3D printingThe functionality has been demonstrated through many models with complex geometric shapes, including miniature chess sets printed in stainless steel. The company’s high-precision 3D metal printing in 20193D printingThe industry award was awarded the annual innovation award.
The system provides a build volume of 203 x 180 x 69 mm, and the build size after printing scaling (sintering shrinkage) is 170 x 150 x 57 mm. It also requires a secondary sintering process after the binder spraying process, which is necessary to remove the binder from the component. DM P2500’s customers mainly come from the automotive and aerospace industries, such as companies such as Koenigsegg, Volvo and Honeywell.
Advancing metal additive manufacturing
Digital Metal was founded in 2012 and belongs to the Höganäs Group, which has been a global producer of iron and non-ferrous metal powders since 1797.Although Digital Digital is mainly dedicated to the development of metal3D printingTechnology, but it also provides printing services for metal parts. The company said that it has produced more than 500,000 components, and its Swedish production plant has mass-produced more than 30 different geometric shapes.

Recently, the company announced a partnership with Elnik Systems, a US manufacturer of metal injection molding (MIM) equipment, to promote metal additive manufacturing.
Digital Metal also launched two super alloys for extreme applications at the end of 2019.The new grades DM 247 and DM 625 are designed to meet the3D printingCompatible super alloy materials are developed for the ever-increasing demand.
