According to foreign media, “Internet Wagashi” is produced by the food innovation company “Open Eating” and sold at the “Moon” restaurant and bar in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. The production is inspired by the Japanese tradition of making food according to climate and season. “Chef” is mainly based on programming calculation rules of weather data such as temperature, wind speed and air pressure of a certain weather, using3D printingTechniques to produce wagashi that is exclusive to the day.
Wagashi has a cone shape, and the base is like a rotating petal. The larger the area, the higher the maximum wind speed; the higher the air pressure, the higher the height of the dessert. If the petals are very pointed, it means low air pressure; if the petals are round, it means high air pressure. Desserts on hot days show warm colors such as red; on cold days, they show cool colors such as blue.
“Internet Wagashi” is divided into two styles, “Cyclone” and “Anticyclone”. The flavors are both matcha flavor. Each is priced at 3,000 yen (approximately RMB 198.6), and comes with a traditional dessert “Midaka”.
