Whether it is a commercial residential building or a self-built house, build a
House
All require a short period of time, which may be three to six months, or it may be as long as years. But this kind of house, it only takes 1 day to build.
Japanese company Serendix Partners, used 3D technology to print a 20-ton reinforced concrete frame in three hours. After 23 hours and 12 minutes of automated construction by machines, the solid spherical house, SPHERE House, was built.
In fact, there are examples of building houses using 3D printers all over the world. In February 2021, the first 3D-printed homes in the U.S. launched in New York, and in April 2021, the Netherlands also began offering rental homes built with 3D printers. In the Middle East and elsewhere, there is also active construction of 3D-printed houses.

Designed by master masayuki sono, the size is about 10 square meters. Although the construction time is short, it is also ‘complete with five internal organs’.
With the advantage of the sphere’s physical structure, SPHERE House can adapt to a variety of environments and is protected from natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, and its performance even reaches European insulation
standard
and Japan’s high seismic standards. Using state-of-the-art 3D printers, coupled with designs that can be completed using robots, the number of human hands required for construction can be minimized.
Serendix Partners started its plans to 3D print houses in 2019. One of the main reasons for choosing this direction is the reduction in the number of carpenters, especially in Japan. And this trend is making traditionally built homes more expensive.
In terms of cost, the characteristics of the spherical structure of SPHERE House can minimize the surface area, and the one-piece molding design also means that the number of components can be reduced, so the cost of 3D printing the house is not high. The current cost is about 3 million yen. The price of buying a new car is comparable.
And, Serendix Partners hopes to achieve higher automation in the future, thereby reducing the time and price required for construction. It is worth mentioning that the company also plans to build a house of 30 ping (about 99 square meters) through 3D printing technology.
The SPHERE House can be built in 24 hours, with an eye-catching design, solid quality, and saves cost and time. A sufficiently high cost performance also means a wider range of uses. Think of it as a campground, as a vacation home, or as a disaster resettlement shelter for immediate relief in the event of a large-scale natural disaster.
High prices, decades-long loan repayments…
housing
In fact, it is a problem that bothers many people. Of course, there are other factors to consider in this huge and complex issue, but the 3D printed SPHERE House means another possibility – as long as the price of a car can be exchanged for a house.
