China3D printingNet December 7th, Mobility goes Additive (MGA) is a German company that can provide3D printingComponents, recently, its train additive manufacturing brake suspension link was approved. It is a heavy-duty part that can be used in the brakes of trains and is now used by the Hamburg Central Railway Administration.
The MGA’s working group has been authorized. It is led by Siemens Mobility and its members are Deutsche Bahn and Fraunhofer IAPT and IGCV facilities. The group also includes Hamburg Hochbahn, Knorr-Bremse, Photon AG, SBB Cargo and TÜVSÜD product services.

MGA’s working group started development in 20173D printingThe brake suspension link. After jointly developing the approval concept, TÜV SÜD has successfully tested and evaluated the applicability of the component in real life. The Hamburg Technical Supervision Bureau has granted it an operating license and it will be put into use in August 2019.
BOStrab is responsible for the German federal regulations on the construction and operation of the light rail transportation system, and has also participated in3D printingApproval of parts.As a result of this work, BOStrab will develop standards for future approvals to increase3D printingThe application of components and parts in the railway field.

Increased liquidity
As part of the MGA, earlier this year, the German railway company Deutsche Bahn expanded its partnership with Berlin.3D printingThe cooperation of software developer 3YOURMIND to establish a “digital spare parts warehouse”. The company also integrated GEFERTEC’s metal additive manufacturing 3DMP technology to improve the availability of hard-to-buy spare parts.
In addition, Deutsche Bahn, Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Italian train operator Trenitalia and the government-owned Swedish railway company SJ have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is represented by seven European railway companies. This initiated a commitment to collaborate with the RAILiability working group under the MGA.
